I learned to paint when I was about 10 years old. My mentor was a well rounded artist that taught me oil, acrylic and water color. She was an important element in my becoming an artist and I still use what she taught me to this day, no matter if I'm painting or tattooing.
About 20 years ago, I decided to stop using brushes when I painted and began using palette knives only. Below are some of my newer works and they contain little to no brush work at all.
Now I primarily paint with dowels and sticks and acrylic pours.
Please contact me if you are interested in any of these works. Higher resolution images are available. Shipping worldwide.
Here is a side project that we've been working on and are proud to share. It is a short video of the kupuna (grandparents) of Kohala that lived during the time that Kohala Sugar Company was in full swing.
They share their stories of what it was like growing up during that era and we also managed to procure some very rare footage of what Kohala was like during that time 50+ years ago.
If you have 30 minutes to spare, please check it out!

Tattoo Nomad: Big Island (pilot)
This pilot was supposed to be a sizzle reel but quickly grew into a full episode.
I talk about my history and the history of Polynesian tattoo as it pertains to Hawaii.
In the tattoo segment, I explore the importance of ancestral connections and remembering those that have come before us.
This book is filled with stories from my past that illustrate just how ridiculous I have been in my expectations of what I believed was the right way to achieve happiness. And, for a long time, the biggest obstacle in my way to finding bliss was often myself.
Life is complicated so it should make sense then that happiness wouldn't be any different!
